should be well researched, using a variety of external resources, and should integrate material from the

 

course. Various discussion board topics as well as issues examined through the written assignments in
the course have assisted you in preparing the final project.

The final project is due at the end of Module 8. Details of this assignment can be found under the

assignment's title for Modules 6 and 8.

For now, you are required to submit a topic proposal for your final project. This is an ungraded

assignment, but it allows the instructor to review your proposed topic and ensure you are on the right
track with your project.
For the course's final project, there are two directions you may take:
Select a well-known, established female entrepreneur who has successfully built a business that taps

into the female market. Analyze her characteristics as an entrepreneur as well as the factors that have

contributed to her business's success.
OR
Come up with a business idea that you believe would successfully tap into a particular segment of the

female market, describing the product or service idea. Discuss why you believe it has the potential to

meet the needs of females in the market segment you have chosen to target.
The topic proposal is a summary that includes the following:

Details on your topic

Option 1
Identify the entrepreneur you have selected and her business venture.
Provide a brief summary of her characteristics, business venture, and why you selected this individual.

Option 2
Identify the business idea you have come up with and the female market segment to which it would be

targeted.
Provide a brief description of the business idea (product/service). Why do you think it would be

appropriate for the market segment you have identified? Why do you believe it has a good chance of

succeeding?
For example, there is a gap in the market currently, and the product/service would meet that need. There

 

are only a few businesses addressing this need, therefore, there’s room for additional businesses to gain

market share by building off the current businesses’ weaknesses.
Your work should be submitted in a Word document, one page in length, typed double-space in 10- or

12-point Arial or Times New Roman font. The page margins on the top, bottom, left side, and right side

should be 1 inch each. Use the APA guidelines for citing and referencing sources.
