You must enter the scene and determine the status of the drums (leaking, any identifying information, types of drums (open head or closed head), orientation of the drums, and any additional information).
According to the property owner, his father used to work at the steel mill until he recently passed away. He would bring home drums from the steel mill to work from home every now and then until the steel mill told him he could no longer do this due to changes in environmental laws.
These drums have been sitting under a tarp on the property for several years. The steel mill has since closed and is out of business. The family is trying to clean up the property and deal with the estate. For this assignment you must provide the following information:
- How would you utilize air monitoring equipment to establish your work zones? You must provide information for all four air monitors.
- Explain all three work zones you need to establish and provide a diagram showing the work zones.
- Provide information on the command structure you will utilize for this response. Include relevant information pertaining to the Incident Commander, Health and Safety Officer, Public Information Officer, how many entries, back up, decode personnel, etc.
- Provide a description of the decontamination you will setup for this response. You do not need to draw the layout. Provide a list of equipment you need and include the solutions you would use.
