Part 2 of the profile assignment requires that you do additional research on the organization you selected for your Profile Part 1. In a maximum of 5 double-spaced, typed pages you are to describe the culture and climate of the organization (as defined in the lecture/reading materials). You might need to do online research, contact current or past employees, and look through materials that provide information about the culture, climate, and socialization processes.
Instructions:
In a max of 5 pages, answer the following questions:
- First go to your notes and readings to understand how culture is defined and identified. Then, research your organization. Try to find evidence that answers this question: What is the culture of ______________ ? Check your assumptions by answering: How can you tell?
- Next, draft an analysis with examples from your research and that integrates class concepts. Use examples of artifacts, values, assumptions, stories, heroes, etc… Draw from the notes and readings to make your claims. Feel free to attach appendices to the end of the paper that you refer to within your paper.
- Finally, draft an analysis of the organizational socialization methods. What methods does this organization use to attract and recruit new employees? Analyze their communication messages in the recruitment materials you find — do they match their culture as you described it? Are the organizational materials effective in communicating about the organization? Why or why not?

The answer is complete. 50 points: The essay illustrates exemplary understanding of the relevant material by thoroughly and correctly addressing the relevant content; identifying and explaining all of the key concepts/ideas; using correct terminology explaining the reasoning behind key points/claims and substantiating, as necessary/useful, points with several accurate and illuminating examples. No aspects of the required answer are missing. Use of Sources (worth a maximum of 20% of the total points). Zero points: Student failed to include citations and/or references. Or the student failed to submit a final paper. 5 out 20 points: Sources are seldom cited to support statements and/or format of citations are not recognizable as APA 6th Edition format. There are major errors in the formation of the references and citations. And/or there is a major reliance on highly questionable. The Student fails to provide an adequate synthesis of research collected for the paper. 10 out 20 points: References to scholarly sources are occasionally given; many statements seem unsubstantiated.
