I just wanted to start off by saying that I hope that everyone is having a great week so far. The four main strategies in international culture are Export, Standardization, Multidomestic and Transnational. The export method is vital simply because it has been utilized by companies that don’t contain expectations to diversify their company. An example I can give to class would be the United States’ exports on computers (Workman, n.d.).

The reason why standardization is important in international culture because standardization gives businesses the ability to perform on a global tier. (Ericson, n.d.) When I was doing research on this specific section, it kind of reminds me last week’s organization’s structure due to the culture side and practices of different regions. But one example that could be utilized would be the use of iPhone being created for all continents that is considered “acceptable” for almost everyone.

The multidomestic strategy is simply the international method that decides to utilize commercial ways to target the local market. The benefit of this is that this gives the organization that’s employing this strategy to learn the culture of that specific area instead of trying to dive into a huge market (Global Negotiator, 2014).

The transnational strategy is simply a hybrid of the central structure of global method with the local replies of the international method (MBA brief, 2022). The reason why I feel this is method is vital to the culture is because while these methods are happening on a global scale, it still gives the ability for the locals to have some type of “say so” within the method. Below are the following sources I’ve used.

Globalization has exponentially grown in past few decades. Global market has become an open field for all businesses regardless of their size and scope. Every company must consider a proper strategy to maintain and expand their business. Four key global strategies are export, standardization, multidomestic, and transnational.

These strategies evolve from two fundamentally inverse forces: global integration and local responsiveness (Principles of Management). A global business must recognize and consider the effects of international culture to select a proper business strategy.

A business must determine demand of their products and services in the global market. Next, the business must decide whether to increase the production to meet those demands. Finally, they must determine any adjustments required to satisfy the cultural expectations of the target consumers. A small industrial business may not require an elaborate global strategy to successfully run their business. It may adopt the export strategy; mostly focusing on the local market.

A business may consider the standardization strategy when their products and services are recognized and accepted around the world. The export and standardization strategies allow companies to export their products and services with zero or minimal adjustment to the international market.

However, they must understand influence of international culture on consumer demand to avoid significant costs and failure (Seah, 2021). Businesses looking to evolve and actively compete in global market should consider multidomestic or transnational strategies. These strategies allow companies to stay flexible and relevant to the international culture. However, the operational and managerial costs are usually higher to maintain such business.
